Monthly predictions
So the monthly is coming up, and I was just curious what people's predictions are going to be for the top 8, and why you chose those guilds.
As for my picks:
American guilds: DF, rawr, dR
Euro guilds: vD, DoM, vile
Asian guilds: new RenO, SpNv
Guilds in bold are likely locks for top 8 provided they don't face each other in top 16.
The American guilds seem to be solid choices for top 8, with strong performances from before. RenO should be able to make top 8 even with their one build wonder. SpNv is decent enough in this month's weak showing of guilds, and it depends on their round of 16 matchup. vD seems to be a lock for top 8 if they play. DoM and vile appear to be on a decent streak lately, and are potential top 8 depending on their swiss round and round of 16 matchups.
Some other guilds of interest include: HAnD, BG, BdV, be, frag. Obviously not super powerhouses, but given how little guilds still play, matchups will determine their success.
Note to anyone who doesn't follow GvG but happen to stumble upon this thread: The game reporter predictions on guildwars.com is a joke. You're better off taking the predictions made by people in this thread :P

Considering our current roster problems and a three week break, i wouldn't expect much from us.

Provided that no one disconnects during a match, I think it's going to look like this
1. Virtual Dragons (but they might not be entering, if they're not... it's Delta Formation)
2. Rebel Rising
3. 한시간 추가요
4. The Benecia Renovatio
5. Battle Gods
6. Dark Alley
7. Supernova Japan
8. Be Team

I haven't seen many of your games lately so I don't know what to expect, but from the vD vs be game, you guys looked solid enough to get top 8.

I expect dR to end higher and Be Team not to make the top 8. Not really sure who to put there though. Apart from that I pretty much agree with this.

well... seems interesting this month with no DF and vD (maybe).
looks like a month for the "lesser" known guilds to shine...
Anyway my GVG predictions are:
dR
Rawr
EW (more just hoping but yah)
New RenO
peso
WASD
Hand
dT
(last 4 i was short on ideas...)
1v1
I chose the 3 people whose names i recognise and random on the others
I dont follow HvH much lol

I'd call the way this monthly is shaping up pretty weak overall, rather than interesting. If people remember, almost no one good was playing for nearly a week and a half after last monthly.

i expect to see a bigger variation in builds this time around. More hex and condition overloads for sure. At least i hope so.
US guilds will be running para+ranger+mes midlines
Euro guilds with ranger+ele+mes midlines
might see some guilds running mainteam water eles
will be very interesting what prot elites we will be seeing.
will we see RC dominate? Or will ZB see some play at the stand? Perhaps good old SoD?
Or dual LoD?
this AT will be a good indication of how the skill balance affected the meta.

I expect a lot of people to run 2 sins 3 monks 2 clumsiness mesmers, hex overload not so much, maybe a few condition builds here and there (be and Vz come to mind) No one will run dual LoD outside of maybe a LoD runner on maps like burning and probably only vD will run a ZB stand monk, everyone else will run either RC or SoD.
Stand water eles get wtfpwnd by HEV.
If DF doesnt get any err7s they stand a good chance otherwise I think the winner will be whoever outbuilds the other in dR vs rawr.

I'm predicting a rawr vs (new reno) final, with rawr edging it out.

Hmmh, from ladder I can see vD having 24 QP. But I didn't find them anywhere near my predictions list, I mean the potential list where you can pick. This happened for other people too?
My predictions went something like this:
rawr
frag
new reno
EW
dR
BG
Be
And some random guild my mates play in which I don't tell, so you can't get my fair share of 100% rite predictions!

Are there any good euro 321spike teams for the monthly? I haven't been watching euro prime time much, if there are good eurospike teams slot them in for the elimination rounds.
I expect RenO to top 16 and keep winning there until they run into a competent 321spike team, slot them in for top 8 at least; DF should top 8 as well but keep with tradition of finding a way to lose when it matters most. I'd take EW seriously as a not-so-dark horse, they have a decent backline and have proven to be leading innovators in the field of counting down from 3 to 1.
The key round for finding the winner should be the semifinals on (likely) Burning Isle. That should set us up for a nice nap until VoD in the final round between rawr and whoever manages to spike better in the other bracket, with the game decided by who does a better job of Frenzying under Protspirit at VoD.

Anet is VERY slow in updating the predictions list (after all, they're too busy changing their website to meet the Halloween theme). The guilds that got 20+ QP in the past few days aren't on the list yet, which makes it really annoying to predict winners and means people would have to check back right before tourney to change their predictions.
